A local pageant girl made her national TV debut! Her Mom talks about the experience.
Competing since she was 5, now 9-year old pageant girl Haley Reed of Jackson recently made a splash on the popular TLC channel feature ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’. Her Mom Melonie says Haley is always happy to be on stage - win or lose - and keeps in contact with texts and emails with girls she met along the way. While competing in the Show Me Smiles Fantasy Pageant in Bernie, Toddlers and Tiaras film crews followed along! Reed tells KZIM KSIM Haley’s Dad, Chuck always acts as a gopher at pageants but this time he ended up on stage for the Daddy and Me segment of this competition! They did a dance routine to Michael Jackson's THRILLER and had a blast. Plus the crowd loved it! Melonie says she laughed so hard she almost doesn't recall much of the performance but they won! Melonie says Haley always wins something wherever she goes and even if it’s not the top prize… she is thrilled. She has a special room in their house for all of her trophies sashes and ribbons… including a crown tree! The family supports Haley’s love for the stage and hopes she can fund her college career in the future with her winnings. TLC aired the episode with the Reeds July 21st and says it will run again in the future but could not give a solid date.
